  • University of Washington, Senior Computer Specialist. This is the Day Job. Unfortunately, this role is be removed due to funding issues. My last day is estimated to be April 11.
  • Veilid Framework, VP of Communications. I was invited to be part of the core team to help with the website and community outreach. Volunteer, unpaid position.

  • Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Washington, DC, Web Designer. Originally on contract via United Global Technologies. Then hired as an employee. I was brought in to help and advise on their Drupal 7 to Drupal 8+ migration.
  • TEN7, Minneapolis, MN, Contract Web Developer. Drupal website front-end specialist. HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Drupal configuration and management, as well as receiving basic DevOps training.
  • BlackFire Security, Lousiville, KY, Individual Contributor. I apprenticed with my mentor in the Cyber Security field and took a CISSP bootcamp.
  • CyberCoders, Boston, MA, Contract Web Developer. Assigned to a contract with the Boston Museum of Science to aid with their Drupal website UI rebuild.
  • Tiny Garden Club LLC, Everett, MA, Founder and Developer. I started an LLC to freelance under while doing the stay-at-home parent thing so I could make sure my kids with special needs got extra support.
  • OmniTI, Columbia, MD, Web Engineer. LAMP stack and Drupal Specialist for the web agency. Worked on multiple client projects including Drupal and a custom PHP e-commerce website.
  • Guddina Coffee, Founding Developer. Did not launch as originally planned. However, I learned how to build a Django e-commerce platform from the bottom up.
  • SSATI, Columbia, MD, Web Developer II. Cleared LAMP stack work. Custom web applications and web pages for in-house use.
  • Aegis Inc, Columbia, MD, Programmer. After graduation I continued working with Aegis. I worked on a data collection system where I had to know how use (or at least compile) Java, MySQL, Python, C++, Bash, HTML, JavaScript and jQuery, and CSS. Also, cleared work on site for a customer.

Internships

The UMBC Career Center was immensely helpful in providing help with paid internships that provided practical, hands-on industry experience.

  • The Retriever Weekly, Baltimore, MD, Web Master. At the time, the university newspaper was completely student run. I learned computer administration, PHP, and more.
  • E-Site Marketing, Bethesda, MD. Web Development Intern. I built out web pages from designer source files and modified the PHP code base as needed (SugarCRM).
  • Maryland Department of Human Resources, Baltimore, MD, Student Programer. Full stack LAMP work and introduction to Section 508 accessibility standards.
  • Glazer-Kennedy Insider's Circle, Towson, MD, Web Development Intern. Drupal 5 website and client portal multi-site install. Custom Drupal 5 intranet. Bought, built, and configured: File server with Samba shares, in-house XMPP messaging.
  • Aegis Inc, Columbia, MD , Intern. Custom company HR intranet. Website based on graphic designer's new branding for the company. Managed product documentation wikis which I configured to produce PDFs to distribute to the customers. Web work was LAMP stack mostly.
